Small Prophets
"The biggest new scripted launch of the year."
Blue House's first show, Small Prophets, co-produced with Mackenzie Crook's Treasure Trove, launched on BBC Two and iPlayer in February 2026, and is on Apple TV internationally from 7 October. It's a six-part comedy created, written and directed by Mackenzie, produced by Gill Isles, with Christine Gernon and Emma Strain as Executive Producers for Blue House.
Meet the team
Founder · Director
Christine has directed some of British television's best-loved comedy: One Foot in the Grave, Absolutely Fabulous and Gavin & Stacey — including the 2024 finale, watched to date by almost 20 million people. Her US credits include New Girl, Black-ish, Superstore and The Goldbergs, and three years as EP and lead director on Speechless for ABC. She is currently directing Ghosts on CBS and St Denis Medical on NBC between Blue House projects.
Founder · Producer
Emma produced Miranda for BBC One, along with Up the Women and The Kennedys for BBC Studios in London, before moving to Los Angeles as Vice President Scripted at BBC Studios LA, where she was part of the team that landed the FOX commissions for Call Me Kat (a reformat of Miranda) and Welcome to Flatch (a reformat of This Country). Most recently she secured the independent financing for Small Prophets, via Sphere Abacus.
Development producer
Shaunna started in development as an intern at 20th Television in Los Angeles, working on American Horror Story and 9-1-1, before joining SISTER, where she helped shape the development slate for the company’s regional outpost and script-edited The Split Up. She is a proud Mancunian, drawn to stories rooted in place and made for audiences well beyond it.
Executive assistant
Cath is North West born and bred, and has worked in media as an executive assistant for more than 25 years. She couldn’t be more excited to be part of Blue House, loving its ethos and ambition.
